Rider Spotlight
If you’ve ridden with charity, you know you’ve ridden with charity
Why? Because her hype is unmatched. Charity shows up first thing in the morning, sings, and woos her heart out, then heads to her job as Chief Academic Officer at Magic City Acceptance Academy - leaving us all wondering how she does it all. She has a light that shines so very bright, which is why we want you to get to know Charity a little better!
Meet Charity Jackson
Tell us about your first Ignite Ride.
My first ride was with folx from Teach For America Alabama (TFA-AL). We were doing a self care day for teachers and it was a beautiful experience. I danced classical ballet for 15 years and thoroughly enjoy group exercise. So I was a little unsure of what to expect but knew that it would be fun. I was at a very different head space and physical space back then so I was also nervous about my ability to make it through the 45 mins. Tiffany was out instructor and she carried us through song by song and move by move. It was glorious and I felt great afterwards.
What do you do when you're not woo-ing it up in The Bike Room?
When I’m not in the woo-ing it up in the Bike Room, I am typically enjoying time at work, home or with family and friends. I love dancing, cooking and eating. I also have been training for a 5K that I ran on Sat, September 11th. My new position at Magic City Acceptance Academy has been my main focus outside of self care and spending time with family and friends.
What track gets you the most hype?
All of the tracks in the Bike Room are stellar. I think any song by Kanye, OutKast, Beyoncé, Dua Lipa, or songs that are from the early 2000s get me the most hype. I thoroughly enjoy the themed rides as well. There is just something about being in a room filled with folx that are there for different reasons moving in sync that just feels so good.
Fave move on the bike?
My favorite move on the bike are corners. It’s the swaying back and forth from side to side that just makes my mind, body and heart smile. Plus everybody seems to really jam during that time.
What's one thing we wouldn't know about you by scrolling through your social media?
As I have been on a break from social media for some time now (almost a year), there may be a lot that folx don’t get to see. I have transitioned from being on staff with TFA-AL to Chief Academic Officer at MCAA. I am obsessed with both of my nieces (1 yr old and 16 year old). I have a new found joy with running. I have a huge family (1 of 6 kids). Lastly, I have learned to love myself more in the last year and that has manifested in healthy physical activity, eating habits, and relationships.
